Role Description

• AEM Solution Development
  • Design, develop and maintain AEM components, editable templates, Sling Models, HTL implementations, Client Libraries and OSGi services.
  • Configure and support Content Fragments, Experience Fragments, GraphQL, workflows, DAM capabilities, Package Manager and JCR-based content structures.
  • Apply established AEM development patterns to create reusable, configurable and author-friendly solutions.
  • Contribute to AEM Forms development and support form-related integrations where required.
  • Understand and work within AEM software and infrastructure architecture, including author, publisher, dispatcher and CDN layers.
• Front-End Engineering
  • Build responsive and adaptive web interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, SCSS/SASS, JavaScript ES6+, TypeScript and React.
  • Use Bootstrap and appropriate component or design-system standards to deliver consistent user experiences.
  • Ensure solutions meet accessibility requirements aligned to WCAG standards and work consistently across supported browsers and devices.
  • Partner with UX/UI and content teams to translate designs and content requirements into maintainable AEM experiences.
  • Use jQuery where required for existing solutions; Angular knowledge is advantageous.
• Full-Stack and API Integration
  • Develop or enhance Java-based services using supported Java versions, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices patterns.
  • Integrate AEM with enterprise and third-party systems through RESTful services, SOAP APIs and GraphQL.
  • Implement robust JSON and XML processing, validation, error handling and integration logging.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers and architects on interface contracts, security requirements and integration design.
• Cloud, DevOps and Release Engineering
  • Support AEM as a Cloud Service and cloud-hosted workloads on Azure or AWS.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates using Azure DevOps, GitHub and Git-based workflows.
  • Use Maven, npm, Yarn and Webpack to build, package and deploy application code and front-end assets.
  • Apply working knowledge of Docker and a basic understanding of Kubernetes to support modern delivery environments.
  • Support production releases, validate deployments and perform post-deployment monitoring to confirm system integrity.
• Quality Engineering and Performance
  • Create and maintain automated tests using JUnit and React Testing Library, with appropriate unit, integration and regression coverage.
  • Optimise Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse outcomes through efficient rendering, lazy loading, caching and asset optimisation.
  • Implement and validate dispatcher, CDN and browser caching strategies in partnership with infrastructure teams.
  • Perform code reviews, troubleshoot defects and undertake root-cause analysis to improve maintainability and platform stability.
• Production Support and Observability
  • Monitor application health, logs, performance and user-experience indicators using Dynatrace, New Relic, Adobe Insights, Grafana and Elasticsearch.
  • Analyse incidents and application errors, implement sustainable fixes and minimise service disruption.
  • Work closely with DevOps, infrastructure and support teams to maintain availability, performance and operational excellence.
  • Contribute to support documentation, runbooks, knowledge sharing and continuous service improvement.
• Analytics and Marketing Technology Enablement
  • Enable and support integrations with Adobe Analytics and Adobe Target.
  • Apply basic working knowledge of Adobe Experience Platform and Adobe Journey Optimizer when implementing digital-experience use cases.
  • Collaborate with analytics, marketing and content stakeholders to ensure that technical implementation supports measurement and personalisation requirements.
• Agile Delivery and Collaboration
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, estimation, refinement, planning, demonstrations and retrospectives.
  • Maintain delivery transparency and technical documentation using Jira, Confluence, Azure Boards and Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with product owners, analysts, designers, architects, content authors, testers, platform teams and support stakeholders.
  • Escalate delivery risks, dependencies and production concerns early, with clear options and recommended actions.

Qualifications

• Relevant bachelor’s degree, advanced diploma or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant Adobe Experience Manager certification would be advantageous.
• Cloud, Java, DevOps or front-end engineering certifications would be advantageous.
