Role Description
Are you a passionate Web Application Developer excited to design and build impactful solutions in the Geospatial, Open Data, Big Data, and IoT sectors? This role is ideal for a developer who thrives on solving challenges, building efficient workflows, and creating groundbreaking software.
- Develop user-friendly interfaces to integrate with existing systems, improving the management and maintenance of data across disparate platforms.
- Utilize an Agile-based project management approach, focusing on understanding, capturing, and documenting business processes and requirements before and during the development phase.
- Assist in prototyping new software solutions, including trial versions of software, open-source software, or new use cases for existing software.
- Quickly integrate new and existing systems to deliver demonstrable proofs of concept that showcase key capabilities and features.
- Collaborate with team members to demonstrate integration capabilities and provide insights into possible software solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent relevant education/experience) with 3+ years of experience, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Interest in supporting impactful applications in "earth-focused" sectors such as Earth Science, Transportation, Hazards, Energy, and Health.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
- Strong multitasking abilities, with the ability to rapidly switch between different subjects, communication styles, and architectural products.
- Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to pass a basic NACI, background, drug, and reference checks, and potential security clearance.
Requirements
- Programming Languages: JavaScript (ES6), TypeScript (Angular)
- Web Technologies: Node.js, Angular 10+, HTML5, CSS3
- Cloud Experience: AWS, Containers (Docker), Linux
- Tools and Software: JIRA, WordPress, NPM
- Job Experience: Full-stack development (front-end primarily, with some back-end and middleware). Experience in the full application lifecycle (design, development, deployment, and support), APIs, and Service Integration.
