Role Description
Are you a highly skilled full-stack engineer with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences? We’re looking for someone with strong expertise in front-end technologies and a solid foundation in back-end development (PHP, Node.js) to join our Platform Usability & Growth team at Digistore24. In this role, you will shape the user experience of our e-commerce platform while driving overall business growth. - Demonstrate Strategic Business Thinking: You are product-minded and take ownership of your work. You want to understand the problem, the business case, and make pragmatic decisions.
- Elevate User Experience: Lead the development and refinement of our e-commerce platform to ensure an intuitive, accessible, and engaging human-centric user interface.
- Innovate in Developer Experience: Work with Angular, CSS, design systems, web components, and accessibility standards to support the creation of modern and responsive web applications.
- Collaborate With Experts: Partner closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and platform developers to bring cohesive and innovative solutions to life.
- Contribute to Engineering Excellence: Build on a proven expertise with TypeScript and CSS as well as one or more modern web UI frameworks (Angular, VueJS). Conduct thorough code reviews, refactor legacy components, and propose strategic improvements to modernize our evolving codebase.
- Mentor and Lead: Share your front-end expertise with the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Requirements
- Strategic business thinking: You don't need to know every detail of how to solve a problem, because you understand the business case behind it and you can make pragmatic decisions.
- Code refactoring expertise: You are able to tackle legacy code and make small refactorings without breaking it.
- Problem-solving mentality: You take ownership of a task and will do whatever is necessary to finish it. Yes, you understand yourself as a problem solver via code, not a coder.
- Master of great code quality: You understand code quality outside of frameworks.
- Extensive technology stack: Strong proficiency in PHP/Symfony.
- Expertise in Angular, TypeScript and Jest.
- Experience in test-driven development with PHPunit and integration testing.
- Hands-on experience working with Docker, containers and integration pipelines.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Linux operating system knowledge.
- Experience in Domain Driven Design (preferred).
- Communication skills: You are fluent in both written and spoken English to communicate with our international team.
- Experience with web UI/UX best practices including accessibility, responsive design, and design systems.
- Deep knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, including CSS methodologies (BEM, SMACSS) and CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS.
- Experience with web performance optimization techniques and ensuring cross-browser compatibility.
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks for front-end applications beyond Jest, such as Cypress or Selenium, is a plus.
