Role Description

The Level 2 Technical Engineer provides mid-level technical support for customers leveraging HP GreenLake and hybrid cloud solutions. This role focuses on troubleshooting escalated issues, maintaining critical infrastructure systems, and ensuring seamless operation across on-prem and cloud environments.

Deliver L2 technical support for HP GreenLake and related infrastructure technologies, including escalated incidents and service requests.
Ensure customer tickets are documented, resolved efficiently, and closed with clear communication and resolution notes.
Set realistic expectations with customers and communicate proactively throughout the resolution process.
Escalate complex or critical issues to L3 engineers with detailed documentation and context.
Install, configure, and manage physical and virtual servers running Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022, and various Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
Administer and support modern virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere / ESXi 6.5 through 8.x and vCenter Server.
Provide support for Hyper-V environments as needed.
Support and maintain environments across public (AWS, Azure) and private cloud platforms.
Assist with hybrid cloud connectivity, identity federation, and workload migrations.
Perform basic cloud resource provisioning, cost management, and security policy enforcement.
Configure and manage enterprise storage solutions, including SAN and NAS systems, ensuring optimal performance, redundancy, and data integrity.
Monitor storage capacity and plan for scaling or reallocation as needed.
Design, implement, and regularly test backup solutions and disaster recovery (DR) procedures.
Verify backup integrity, automate job monitoring, and document recovery plans for critical systems.
Interface regularly with customer technical and business teams to provide insight and support.
Act as an internal escalation point and knowledge contributor for L1 staff.
Work closely with Level 3 engineers on major incidents and projects.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022
Deep experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi (6.5 – 8.x), and vCenter
Working knowledge of Linux OS administration
Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and clustering
Experience in Cloud administration (AWS and/or Azure)
Solid troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Strong communication and customer service focus

Requirements

Experience supporting Hyper-V environments
Familiarity with Scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
Understanding of hybrid IT environments and connectivity models
