Role Description

Growth engineers at Whatnot are responsible for expanding our new user funnel across buyers and sellers to accelerate the rapid growth of our marketplace. We focus on the full funnel, developing opportunities to grow traffic across multiple channels while also creating delightful new user experiences to activate and retain buyers and sellers for the long term.

Build out our core Incentivized buyer growth strategy, including gamified incentives and offer experiences.
Lead other frontend and fullstack engineers to build our core incentive system from the ground up.
Have big ownership and velocity to significantly impact the company top-line metrics.
Prioritize the highest impact features and ship them quickly.
Research and find new opportunities to drive the product direction.

Qualifications

5+ years of software development experience.
Experience building E-commerce products.
Frontend or Fullstack engineering experience.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience leading engineers to deliver significant business impact.
Proven track record of delivering features.
Excellent cross functional team communications.
Excellent product instincts, focusing on users rather than the best technical solution.
Self-motivated, relentlessly focused on impact, and able to operate with a great deal of independence.
Excellent problem solver and don’t need to be told exactly what to do.
Good communication skills in both written and verbal English.
