Role Description

This role involves being a key contributor to Dropbox's AI-first mission as a Staff Data Scientist.

Join a team of top-tier data scientists within the product organization to create and scale a new business.
Build a top-tier data-informed culture focused on AI/ML impact and execution.
Partner closely with leads across all functions, including Product, Engineering, Design, and Research.
Build reliable, efficient, and scalable data foundations and daily execution standards, tools, and processes for AI/ML capabilities’ long-term growth.
Contribute to a culture of strong technical ownership, resulting in highly reliable products and services at scale.
Leverage data-driven insights to proactively identify impactful opportunities and inform future experimentation design and product roadmaps.
Perform analytical deep-dives to analyze AI-related user problems and opportunities, identify hypotheses, and design & execute experiments with rigor and efficient data techniques.
Demonstrate data science team leadership by driving larger multi-team projects, mentoring fellow team members, and raising the bar on craft.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or above in a quantitative discipline: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
8-10+ years of experience leveraging data-driven analysis to influence key business decisions and executives, preferably in a tech company.
4+ years working with AI/ML related product teams, with hands-on experience collaborating with data scientists, engineers, product managers, user researchers, and designers.
Proven track record of working independently and proactively engaging with business stakeholders with minimal direction.
Ability to influence prioritization and execution of high-impact projects affecting customer experience, monetization, and the organization’s roadmap.
Ability to provide data insights for 0-1 products even with small sample sizes, with a track record of driving directly measurable product or business impact.
Proficient with SQL, Python, and other coding languages frequently applied in the AI/ML production environment, with a deep understanding of statistical analysis and experiment design.

Requirements

Have worked in startups or on true 0→1 products before.
Experience with SaaS search, ranking, AI research, etc.
Diverse background of experience across growth, core experience, and/or foundational teams.

Compensation

Canada Pay Range: $181,900 — $246,100 CAD
