Role Description
SS&C is searching for a skilled VMware / OpenShift Administrator to manage and optimize our container orchestration platform. As a VMware/ OpenShift Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in deploying, configuring, and maintaining VMware and OpenShift clusters while ensuring smooth operation and high availability of our applications.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Team and operations teams to enhance our infrastructure and support continuous integration and delivery workflows.
- Install, configure, and maintain VMware and OpenShift clusters on-premises.
- Monitor cluster performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Manage user access and permissions within the OpenShift environment.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment.
- Work with development teams to optimize applications running on OpenShift.
- Create and maintain documentation related to OpenShift configurations and procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest OpenShift and Kubernetes features and best practices.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement best security practices for containerized applications.
- Conversions from VMware to OpenShift.
- Ability to Manage a VMware environment.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as an OpenShift Administrator or similar role.
- Strong understanding of OpenShift and Kubernetes architecture and components.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Groovy.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and processes.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and configurations in a containerized environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- OpenShift or Kubernetes certifications are a plus.
- VMware Certifications a plus.
