Job Summary
The Senior Salesforce Developer and Administrator is a highly skilled individual contributor responsible for the full-stack development, advanced configuration, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of PROVE’s Salesforce platform. This is a hands-on role that blends Salesforce administration and development — you’ll be the go-to expert for everything from configuring Flows and page layouts to writing Apex code and building Lightning Web Components. As the sole Salesforce specialist on staff, you must be equally comfortable using point-and-click tools and custom code to support evolving business needs. This role requires full ownership of technical execution, systems integration, and platform strategy across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Stack Platform Development & Configuration:
Design and implement scalable Apex classes, triggers, Lightning Web Components, and SOQL queries.
Build and maintain advanced Salesforce Flows and custom apps tailored to business operations.
Work closely with internal teams to understand business needs and translate them into scalable Salesforce solutions using both no-code tools and custom development
Build, configure, and maintain Experience Cloud (Community) portals, including user authentication, page layouts, custom components, and features like knowledge articles, case deflection, and searchable help content.
Independently own Salesforce architecture decisions, balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability.
Data Management & Platform Governance:
Execute large-scale data migrations, deduplication, and enrichment using tools like Data Loader, DemandTools, or custom batch Apex logic.
Maintain data integrity through automated processes, validation rules, and Apex triggers.
Manage sandbox environments, refresh cycles, and deployment pipelines for development, UAT, and production.
Reporting, Analytics & Visualization:
Build reports, dashboards, and analytics tools to support cross-functional teams.
Support integration with external BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and build data models that feed into leadership metrics.
Optimize data schema and performance to support advanced reporting across multiple objects and relationships.
Integration & Technical Architecture:
Design and implement integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, or AppExchange tools.
Evaluate and manage third-party apps and API tools, overseeing their configuration and performance.
Serve as the architect and executor for all Salesforce-related technical systems and data flows.
Hands-On Problem Solving & Issue Resolution:
Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, from code-level bugs to permission inconsistencies.
Proactively monitor performance and user experience across the Salesforce environment.
Function as the in-house expert and escalation point for anything Salesforce-related.
Project Ownership & Business Engagement:
Lead Salesforce-related projects from scoping to deployment, such as new product rollouts, custom module builds, and platform upgrades.
Work directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions with minimal oversight.
Act as a strategic partner to the business, balancing long-term platform health with short-term feature needs.
Documentation & Enablement:
Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for custom code, configuration, integrations, and user training.
Provide ongoing support and coaching to power users to increase self-service capabilities.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
• 4–7+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience, with demonstrable expertise in both administration and custom development.
• Background in finance, fintech, or supporting finance-related operations is strongly preferred.
Certifications:
Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM 201) required
Salesforce Platform Developer I certification required
Salesforce Experience Cloud Consultant certification strongly preferred
Salesforce Platform Developer II certification strongly preferred
Additional certifications like Platform App Builder or Sales/Service Cloud Consultant are a plus
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency with Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components, and Visualforce
Deep experience with declarative tools (Flows, Process Builder, Custom Objects, Validation Rules)
Experience designing scalable solutions with REST APIs, MuleSoft, or custom integrations
Familiarity with DevOps and deployment tools (Gearset, Copado, VS Code, Git)
Strong understanding of security architecture, permission sets, roles, and sharing models
Hands-on experience configuring and deploying Experience Cloud (Community) portals
Soft Skills:
Detail-oriented with exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills
Excellent communication skills—able to translate business needs into technical outcomes and vice versa
Proven ability to work independently as the sole Salesforce SME while engaging business teams across departments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing large Salesforce instances (500+ users or multi-org environments)
Background with CPQ, Service Cloud, Field Service Lightning, or Marketing Cloud
Familiarity with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus
Working Conditions
Full-time remote role with flexibility for after-hours work during system upgrades or critical releases. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact position that collaborates cross-functionally with business and technical teams.
