Role Description
We have an opening for a Senior React Native Engineer to join our International Expansion team, on a short term contract for 6 months, helping to spearhead the initial greenfield build of a new mobile finance app that aims to further our international growth.
- Join a small cross-functional product team with a startup mindset.
- Support the initial build of a new product offering for a new market.
- Strong track record of building and shipping React Native apps for both Android & iOS.
- Build relationships with other established product teams to influence decisions and align on approaches.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to guide and agree API behaviours and expectations.
- Work closely with product designers to agree on MVP requirements.
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of modern Javascript with Typescript.
- Significant commercial experience with cross-platform native mobile app development using React Native.
- Strong understanding of the different needs of mobile users across a variety of platforms and devices.
- Advocate for automated testing with a pragmatic approach to implementing and improving testing phases.
- Ability to identify and assess technical debt and advocate for remedying it.
- Product mindset to break down business requirements into deliverable tasks.
- Ownership of work, proactively communicating blockers and driving tasks to completion.
- Recognize the value of good documentation and capture key decisions effectively.
Requirements
- Written or spoken Spanish at intermediate level or above.
- Experience using GraphQL in a production environment.
- Experience building and launching new products and growing the audience.
- In-depth experience of mobile performance best practices and debugging.
- Experience employing staged rollouts and multivariate testing approaches.
- Good understanding of UI or UX design and ability to discuss approaches with product designers.
- Experience working on products that have scaled from zero users to tens or hundreds of thousands.
