Role Description
This role involves working with the frontend team at CARTO, which is composed of 8 engineers, all working remotely from different parts of Europe.
- Maintain several products at CARTO including:
- Workspace: the dashboard that controls our product using React + Sagas + Redux.
- Builder: a webGL empowered, high-performance web application for geospatial analytic visualizations based on the Open Source project kepler.gl, using React + Redux.
- CARTO for React: a library/framework based on Create React App to develop applications using CARTO and React.
- deck.gl: a WebGL-powered reactive framework for visual exploratory data analysis of large datasets, with major contributions including MVTLayer, integration with Google Maps, and the CARTO module.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with React.
- 5+ years of experience as a developer, having managed projects in a lead developer role.
- Excellent knowledge of tooling and modern development practices (git/github, documentation, testing, profiling).
- Fluent written & spoken English.
- Autonomy, curiosity, & good energy.
- A true will to teach & learn from coworkers (pair programming, code reviews).
- A solid team player.

- Strong experience with React.
- Active involvement in the React community.
