VRIFY is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to work under our Lead Machine Learning Engineer on the research, design, and implementation of advanced ML solutions. In this role, you will focus on integrating algorithms and workflows into the AI platform, collaborating closely with the development team to ensure smooth deployment and performance optimization. While your primary responsibilities center on ML engineering, you will also provide secondary support to the MLOps Developer in maintaining and improving our production pipelines.


Your expertise will be key to optimize code, building new AI products, and improving model performance across various geoscientific domains. By contributing to VRIFY’s ML initiatives and supporting the refinement of geodata scientists’ work, you will help drive innovation and efficiency throughout the organization’s AI ecosystem.


Key Responsibilities

  • AI Strategy Development - Collaborate with the Director of R&D to shape and implement VRIFY's comprehensive AI strategy for geoscientific applications.
  • End-to-End ML Leadership - Oversee all stages of the ML lifecycle, ensuring cohesion from data preparation to model deployment and monitoring.
  • Diverse Solution Architecture - Design and implement a wide range of ML solutions, including computer vision, time series analysis, and geospatial data processing systems, advancing VRIFY's capabilities by adopting emerging technologies and techniques.
  • MLOps Leadership - Lead the implementation of robust MLOps practices, including CI/CD for ML models, ensuring seamless integration of AI into production systems.
  • Infrastructure Optimization - Optimize AI infrastructure and workflows for performance, scalability, data pipeline, and automation throughout the entire machine learning lifecycle.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration - Foster collaboration between data engineers, scientists, and geoscientists to create a cohesive, end-to-end ML ecosystem within VRIFY.
  • Continuous Improvement - Continuously enhance the reliability, efficiency, and impact of AI systems through ongoing improvement and optimization.
  • Geospatial ML - Working knowledge of geospatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, GeoPandas) is highly valued.

Qualifications


Experience: 

  • 7+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with a proven track record of delivering ML solutions into production.

Technical Expertise:

  • Mastery of Python and advanced proficiency in ML frameworks such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, compiled inference engine such as onnxruntime and openvino, and model deployment.
  • Deep understanding of a wide range of ML algorithms, architectures, and their practical applications.
  • Experience in handling large datasets, with experience in AWS
  • Proficiency in software engineering principles, version control, and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with containerization, orchestration, and microservices architectures.
  • Understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance in ML contexts.

Leadership and Soft Skills:

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams in ML projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.
  • Outstanding communication skills, adept at explaining complex ML concepts to diverse audiences, from technical teams to executive stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for continuous learning in the rapidly evolving field of ML.

Education

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field. Relevant industry certifications and contributions to the ML community (e.g., publications, open-source projects) are highly valued.
