Role Description
An experienced Senior Laravel Developer / Team Lead to oversee our development team. In this position, you will focus primarily on back-end development for our core Laravel-based website, ensuring clean, efficient, and scalable code.
- Guide, mentor, and support the development team, promoting best practices and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Plan, prioritize, and delegate tasks in a Kanban environment.
- Facilitate daily standups to keep everyone aligned on goals and progress.
- Architect, develop, and maintain features on our Laravel-based website.
- Ensure code quality, reusability, and scalability through regular code reviews and refactoring.
- Collaborate with DevOps on deployments and environment management (Kubernetes, DigitalOcean).
- Work closely with the Head of Technology to align on long-term technical strategy and architecture.
- Partner with the Head of Product & UX to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Communicate effectively with QA and other team members to ensure timely delivery of features and bug fixes.
- Identify opportunities to optimize performance (including MySQL queries and Elasticsearch integration).
- Propose and implement improvements to existing workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and development processes.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement within the team.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience building, maintaining, or refactoring Laravel-based websites.
- History of guiding a small to mid-sized development team, ideally in an Agile or Kanban settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to mentor developers and collaborate with non-technical teams.
- Familiarity with database optimization (MySQL) and knowledge of server-side best practices.
- Basic understanding of DevOps, Kubernetes, and cloud hosting (DigitalOcean or similar).
Requirements
- Exposure to Angular or Ionic (useful for side projects).
- Experience with Elasticsearch for data indexing and search features.
- Comfort with CI/CD tools and containerization technologies.
