Role Description
Reporting directly to The Lead DevOps Engineer, the Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure. This position will work closely with data analysts and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth flow and integrity of data across various systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to collect, process, and transform datasets from various sources, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Continuously optimize and improve the performance of data pipelines and storage systems. Conduct troubleshooting and resolve performance issues.
- Uplift existing pipelines to support more timely data.
- Maintain and update technical documentation related to data processes and workflows.
- Work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Business Intelligence teams to ensure data is available, accurate, and usable for analytics, reporting & AI/ML purposes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers, helping them grow in their technical expertise and understanding of the data engineering discipline.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases
- Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and integration tasks
- Proficiency with ETL tools and frameworks (e.g. Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions, Informatica)
- Experience working with DBT (or similar) for transforming and modeling data.
- Experience in managing and maintaining cloud-based data infrastructure, particularly AWS Redshift.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
