Role Description
- Work closely with Leads and Product teams
- Help with design and code reviews in team
- Write highly-optimised and performant code using appropriate design patterns and data structures
- Take part in architectural discussions and drive changes to suit business goals
- Part of initiatives to re-architect sub-systems as deemed necessary to support business growth
Qualifications
- Strong experience in working on highly scalable systems
- Development experience in Core Java Programming and related backend Java Frameworks like Spring
- Good grasp on distributed programming concepts and ability to evaluate pros and cons of each approach
- Strong understanding of messaging systems and experience with platforms like RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.
- Good problem-solving skills and knowledge of data structures
- Advanced concurrency skills in Java, knowledgeable of optimistic and pessimistic locking and their trade-offs
- Good command over JDBC and experience with relational database systems
- Hands-on experience with Java performance tuning, garbage collectors, profilers, etc.
- Understanding of distributed design practices and a willingness to keep learning
- Good knowledge of design patterns and their contextual usage
- Firm believer in TDD (Test Driven Development)
- Self-driven, responsible, and detail-oriented
- Strong collaborator with skills to participate/guide technical discussions
- Strong team player
