Role Description

As a Python Backend Developer you will plan, develop, and maintain our backend systems and APIs in Python. Your experience with FastAPI and SQLAlchemy is crucial to creating performant and scalable applications for an optimal user experience. In close collaboration with our frontend teams and other colleagues, you will implement robust and efficient solutions.

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs in Python
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to seamlessly integrate UI elements with server-side logic
  • Ensure performance, quality, and stability of the applications
  • Implement security and data protection concepts
  • Write and maintain clean, maintainable code
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to colleagues
  • Continuously learn and apply modern technologies and best practices
  • Participate in agile processes (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives)

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Python backend development
  • Strong expertise in databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, DynamoDB)
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and web services
  • Understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and version control systems (Git)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Fluent in English

Requirements

  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (good to have)
  • Practical knowledge of FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and ORM (good to have)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI, GitLab CI) (good to have)
  • Basic knowledge of frontend technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) (good to have)
  • Experience writing unit tests (good to have)
  • Knowledge of microservices architectures and serverless computing (good to have)
  • German is a plus for communication with our German-speaking team and clients (good to have)
