Role Description
This role involves contributing to new product efforts and helping take ideas to market, specifically in fintech and payments.
- Discuss, plan, build and test new features.
- Bring in learnings from previous roles and experiences to help build exciting new fintech innovations for businesses everywhere.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and other stakeholders in defining the user experience.
- Triage and fix bugs, often working directly with users.
- Manage code reviews through Pull Requests and ensure fast movement while maintaining Unit Tests and quality.
- Help migrate some of the modules into independent micro-services.
- Work on product features that affect tens of thousands of customers.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience working on web applications using modern software engineering processes.
- Proficient in Python and Django.
- Experience debugging complex database performance issues.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to ask questions to improve the product.
- Experience building performant and scalable backends and making pragmatic tradeoffs.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex technical topics clearly and concisely.
- Experience working in an early-stage startup is a huge plus.
Requirements
- Expertise in Django is a must.
- Ability to diagnose and fix core issues when things break.
