Role Description

This role involves delivering high impact software solutions and addressing high impact business priorities.

Uses intuition to quickly identify and resolve issues.
Creates technology solutions with a focus on quality and complexity.
Demonstrates ability to analyze, design, code, test, and deploy solutions.
Participates in strategic technology decisions impacting Discover as a whole.
Proactively identifies and mitigates issues based on experience.
Coaches technology communities in specific domains and agile methodologies.

Qualifications

Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, Information Security, Information Technology, or related field.
6+ years in Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, or related field.
Internal applicants must have a technical proficiency rating of proficient on the Dreyfus engineering scale.

Requirements

Primarily remain in a stationary position.
No required movement about the work environment to complete major responsibilities.
Primarily performed indoors in an office setting.
Ability to operate office equipment such as computer, telephone, printer, and calculator.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong coding in Python and Java with automation experience.
Deep knowledge of RHEL Linux including performance optimization.
Experience with SAN, NAS, NFS, and object-oriented solutions.
Expertise in Terraform or Ansible for compliance-driven deployments.
Deep understanding of AWS and on-prem infrastructure.
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift for container orchestration.
Strong grasp of Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD with controls for change management.
Expertise in Splunk, Datadog for real-time fraud/anomaly detection.
Proven ability to lead incident resolution and disaster recovery.
Experience with low-latency, high-throughput systems.
Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases with strong consistency requirements.
Strong grasp of encryption, IAM, firewalls, and compliance tools.
Familiarity with SOX, PCI DSS, FFIEC, and other financial regulations.
Experience working with SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST frameworks.
Implementing audit trails, logging policies, and real-time security event monitoring.
Ensuring encryption at rest/in transit, data retention policies, and GDPR compliance.
Experience with multi-region failover and active-active architectures.
Ability to lead real-time financial outages and minimize downtime.
Work with compliance, risk, security, and business teams to align strategies.
Defining SLOs for transaction processing and payment networks.
Driving cost efficiency in cloud & infrastructure while ensuring compliance.
Driving self-healing infrastructure and reducing operational toil.

Compensation

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $107,000.00 to $180,200.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package.
