Role Description
This role involves leading the engineering team and shaping the product's evolution in a dynamic fintech startup.
- Work with the CTO to build the technical roadmap and drive architectural decisions for scalability and performance
- Lead development efforts, maintaining and enhancing the product using best practices
- Optimize integrations with e-commerce platforms, financial institutions, and embedded checkouts
- Drive security and reliability standards by implementing industry best practices
- Help hire, mentor, and support engineers as we grow the team
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of the software architecture
- Collaborate with leadership to align tech and business goals as we scale
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience, ideally with a significant focus on Node.js and TypeScript
- Experience scaling a product from MVP to high-traffic production
- Experience with web frameworks like Express.js, Nest.js, or Fastify.js
- Strong knowledge of DB technologies - SQL/NoSQL; familiarity with SQL and ORM/ODM software
- Knowledge of front-end JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue or Angular
- Experience with cloud infrastructure like GCP, AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce) and financial APIs/Open Banking is a plus
- Experience leading projects or teams
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with security-driven development (SSDLC) and security compliance frameworks such as SOC2
