Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in securing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) resources, resolving security alerts, and implementing best practices to ensure our cloud environment is secure, optimized, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Infrastructure Security:
    • Analyze and resolve security alerts in GCP, ensuring minimal downtime and enhanced security.
    • Set up Virtual Machines (VMs) with robust security measures for monolithic applications.
    • Configure firewalls, SSH access, and manage IAM roles to ensure secure access control.
    • Implement web application security protocols to protect websites hosted on GCP.
  • Resource Optimization:
    • Conduct regular audits to identify underutilized or misconfigured resources.
    • Provide cost optimization and performance improvement recommendations.
  • Policy and Compliance:
    • Ensure GCP infrastructure adheres to industry standards and compliance regulations.
    • Establish security policies and procedures, including encryption, data protection, and access management.
  • Automation and Best Practices:
    • Automate routine tasks such as backups, patch management, and security updates.
    • Enforce least privilege access and implement CI/CD pipelines with security checks.
  • Threat Assessment and Mitigation:
    • Perform regular vulnerability scans and penetration testing.
    • Develop strategies to prevent and mitigate cyber threats specific to GCP.
  • Training and Documentation:
    • Educate team members on GCP security best practices.
    • Create and maintain detailed documentation for configurations, processes, and security measures.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Google Cloud Platform security.
  • Strong understanding of GCP services, including IAM, Cloud Security Command Center, and Cloud Armor.
  • Hands-on experience setting up and managing VMs, networks, and firewalls.
  • Expertise in resolving security incidents and implementing proactive measures.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or ISO 27001.
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation tools like Terraform, Python, or Cloud Deployment Manager.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Windows 11 operating system or MacOS 13+
  • 256GB Storage space - minimum
  • 16GB RAM - minimum
  • Dual Core CPU - minimum
  • Camera: HD Webcam (720p)
  • Headset: Noise cancelling (preferably)
  • Internet Speed: 50 Mbps - minimum
