Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer (Python) with strong expertise in SQL Query Optimization, Performance Tuning, and Database Design.
- The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL databases like Cassandra.
- This role requires proficiency in working within distributed database environments, with an added advantage for experience in Python 3 for automation and database-related scripting.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize database schemas, tables, partitions, views, triggers, functions, and stored procedures.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries and performance bottlenecks.
- Maintain database integrity, consistency, and security while working with large-scale data processing.
- Manage and support distributed database environments, including Citus and Cassandra.
- Conduct query performance tuning and partition maintenance for PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.
- Automate database tasks and workflows using Python 3 and database scripting.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and optimizations for production environments.
- Continuously improve and innovate database architectures to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Work in Linux environments for database deployment, maintenance, and optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of database solutions with applications.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Database Engineer or Developer.
- Strong proficiency in SQL Query Optimization, Performance Tuning, and Database Design.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL databases like Cassandra.
- Expertise in database partitioning and distributed databases (e.g., Citus).
- Experience working in a Linux environment for database operations.
- Familiarity with database architecture and design best practices.
- Experience in database troubleshooting, debugging, and query optimization.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in Python 3 for database automation and scripting.
- Experience working with open-source databases and cloud-based database solutions.
- Familiarity with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies for databases.
- Knowledge of ETL pipelines and data migration strategies.
Soft Skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setup.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle large-scale data environments.
