Role Description
As an AEM Frontend Developer, you will be responsible for building and implementing user interfaces and interactive components for our web applications using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) as the content management system and ReactJS as the primary frontend framework.
- Collaborate closely with backend developers, content authors, and designers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and performant digital experiences.
- AEM Component Development: Design, develop, and implement reusable and modular AEM components using Sling, HTL (Handlebars Template Language), and JavaScript.
- Template Development: Create and maintain AEM page templates and editable templates, ensuring flexibility and ease of use for content authors.
- Client Libraries (Clientlibs): Architect and implement efficient client-side solutions using AEM client libraries, optimizing for performance and maintainability.
- ReactJS Development: Develop and maintain complex user interfaces and interactive components using ReactJS, including state management (e.g., Redux, Context API), routing, and component lifecycle management.
- Front-end Development Standards: Adhere to best practices and coding standards for JavaScript, ReactJS, HTML5, and CSS3, ensuring clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
- API Integration: Integrate frontend components with the AEM backend and other internal/external APIs using RESTful or GraphQL methodologies.
- Responsive Design Implementation: Develop responsive and adaptive user interfaces that work seamlessly across various devices and screen sizes.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and implement frontend performance optimization techniques, including code splitting, lazy loading, and efficient rendering strategies.
- Cross-Browser Compatibility: Ensure compatibility and consistent user experience across different web browsers and platforms.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with backend developers, content authors, designers, and other stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum environment. Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and code reviews.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Write unit and integration tests to ensure the quality and reliability of frontend code. Participate in testing efforts and bug fixing.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for developed components and solutions.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in AEM, ReactJS, and frontend development.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional experience in frontend development.
- Proven experience in developing AEM components, templates (including editable templates), and client libraries.
- Deep understanding and hands-on experience in developing complex applications using ReactJS.
- Strong proficiency in core JavaScript concepts, ES6+ features, and modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
- Solid understanding of semantic HTML5 and modern CSS3 techniques, including preprocessors (e.g., Sass, Less) and CSS-in-JS solutions.
- Experience in integrating frontend applications with backend APIs (RESTful or other).
- Demonstrated ability to implement responsive and adaptive designs using techniques like media queries and flexbox/grid layouts.
- Experience in identifying and implementing frontend performance optimization strategies.
- Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and troubleshoot frontend issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Requirements
- AEM Headless / SPA Editor: Experience with AEM Headless implementations and the SPA Editor.
- Familiarity with GraphQL API development and consumption.
- In-depth understanding of RESTful API design principles.
- Exposure to Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with frontend testing frameworks like Jest, Enzyme, or React Testing Library.
- Experience with popular React state management libraries like Redux, Context API, or Zustand.
- Familiarity with frontend build tools like Webpack, Parcel, or Rollup.
- Proficient with Git and version control systems.
