[Hiring] Strategic Sourcing Manager @Vitalant

Role Description

Join Vitalant’s mission to save and improve lives through blood donation and beyond! As a Sourcing Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing sourcing and procurement strategies for assigned equipment, supply, and service categories across the Vitalant System. This is an individual contributor position and does not supervise staff.

• Conduct market research for alternative products/services and procurement sources.
• Analyze trends in commodity markets, changes in industry, technology, regulatory changes, and trends in Vitalant spend.
• Prepare and maintain basic project plans to align team members and achieve timing milestones and outcomes.
• Evaluate RFI and RFP responses and consider vendor sourcing opportunities.
• Lead a cross-functional team through a structured bid evaluation and selection process.
• Negotiate contracts for capital equipment, supplies, and services.
• Provide transitional project planning and oversight of switch-overs when awarding contracts to new suppliers.
• Independently develop RFP documents to meet Vitalant stakeholder needs.
• Ensure RFP bid and negotiation process is conducted in a fair and ethical manner.
• Prepare accurate bid analysis and create presentations and cost modules to recommend the most responsive and responsible bidder on Total Cost of Ownership.
• Present and make recommendations to leadership.
• Apply fact-based negotiation tactics to resolve differences between vendor and Vitalant.
• Provide support to management in planning and executing sourcing strategies for specific projects.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic vendors to ensure key spend categories are under contract.
• Mitigate supply risk by monitoring and adapting to changes in the supplier’s operations, product quality, capabilities to supply, and key personnel.
• Decide if proposed contract changes and modifications are reasonable and in the best interest of Vitalant.

Qualifications

• Experience in sourcing and procurement strategies.
• Strong analytical skills and market research capabilities.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of contract management and vendor relations.

Requirements

• Remote work capability.
• Ability to work Monday - Friday during dayshift.
• Salary range: $85,000 - $95,000 per year.
