Role Description
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) β Cable Products is responsible for developing and securing equipment sales within the South Central USA region through a combination of direct activities and support of outside sales representatives. The role focuses on building strong customer relationships, conducting product demonstrations, participating in industry events, and driving sales growth for cable fault location, VLF, Tan Delta, and Partial Discharge diagnostic equipment. The ASM provides regular reporting, forecasting, and strategic input to the North America Cable Director.
Area of Responsibility:

South Central USA, including the states of Texas (TX), Oklahoma (OK), Arkansas (AR), Louisiana (LA), Missouri (MO), and Kansas (KS).
ASM Principal Accountabilities:

Education and training of the outside sales team to ensure their ability to perform basic demonstrations of the product and development of sales opportunities.

Provide technical support as necessary for cable fault location, test, and diagnostic equipment within scope of knowledge.

Promote and support the sales of Megger equipment to clients including electric utility operations, independent power producers, electrical apparatus manufacturers, electrical service testing companies, and heavy industrial facilities.

Responsible for time and territory management planning and execution for effective coverage of all sales territories in area of responsibility.

Minimum of 50% travel including product demonstration tours to specific areas in support of product sales and commissioning.

Responsible for the cable fault location and diagnostic equipment cable van maintenance and rotation scheduling with assistance of the Regional Sales Manager.

Manage expenses within Megger guidelines.

Update and maintenance of the prevailing CRM (SAP C4C) database with sales contact/call entries.

Provide monthly updates and other periodic reports as required detailing activities, plans and corrective actions to achieve targeted sales results.

Develop a pipeline of potential sales through opportunity management process and requirements for High Quality Opportunity Development in conjunction with Regional Sales Manager, Inside Sales and Field Sales.

Report to assigned North America Manager of Power Cable with activities, planning, forecasting, and development of sales strategies.

Contribute to new product development process by sharing observations on industry trends, client requirements and information collected from participation in industry events, organizations, and work groups.

Ability to move, lift and transport Cable Fault Location, Test and Diagnostics demonstration equipment as needed.

Responsible for other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelorβs degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field; equivalent technical and commercial experience may be considered.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or field support related to electrical test, measurement, or power cable equipment.

Strong working knowledge of power cable systems and diagnostic methods, including Cable Fault Location, VLF, Tan Delta, and Partial Discharge testing.

Proven ability to conduct and explain technical product demonstrations in customer environments.

Experience supporting or selling solutions to electric utilities, independent power producers, testing service companies, or heavy industrial customers preferred.

Ability to educate, train, and support sales personnel on product applications and basic demonstrations.

Excellent communication, presentation, and customer-relationship management skills.

Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Strong time, territory, and travel management skills.

Proficient with CRM systems; experience with SAP C4C preferred.

Ability and willingness to travel extensively (minimum 50%).
