[Hiring] Senior Sales Engineer @EDB

Role Description

EDB is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join our team of sales engineering professionals. As a Senior Sales Engineer at EDB, you will be responsible for supporting the sales team in all technical aspects of the sales process including:

• Presentations
• Demos
• Proof of value
• Pilots
• Technical workshops
• Technical account management

You will work closely with Field & Inside Sales, Partners, Product Management & Engineering to be a conduit of technical requirements to & from EDB to our clients. It is anticipated most of the business will be in the Central & Eastern European (CEE) region.

What your impact will be:

• Interact with customers/prospects/partners regularly, driving technical discussions to support sales in the region.
• Engage with existing customers and business partners, providing EDB technical expertise to help clients solve business problems and grow the subscription and services business.
• Provide subject matter expertise to ensure planned sales targets are achieved.
• Work with EDB professional services to build statements of work required in the deployment of EDB solutions.
• Assist clients and partners to build training and enablement plans.
• Provide a single point of technical contact for partner engagements, liaising with local EDB SE's to provide necessary tech support to opportunities.
• Provide EDB product management & engineering guidance on EDB product usage and performance, as well as competitive information.

Qualifications

• Ability to drive discussions and database-related pain points at CXO level.
• Support key and strategic sales motions in this region from a technical perspective.
• At least 4 to 5 years of direct experience in customer-facing roles.
• Ability to conduct product proof-of-concepts from initial requirements gathering to successful execution.
• Hands-on experience in PostgreSQL or EDB Postgres databases or Oracle databases.
• Relational database experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Good understanding of NoSQL and unstructured data store concepts.
• Good knowledge of SQL and SQL query tuning & debugging techniques.
• Basic to intermediate Linux system administration experience.
• Motivated team player with on-site partner/channels ecosystem experience.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Keen to travel and spend time in the field with customers, partners, and System Integrators.

Requirements

• Foundational and/or experience in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMWare Cloud, and OpenStack.
• Exposure to Containers (Docker), Microservices, PaaS (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Understanding of SQL, PL/SQL or PL/pg, bash shell or Python scripts.
• Ability to author solution collaterals and describe product features in response to RFPs.
• Ability to coordinate Professional Services deliverables between teams.
