Role Description
An international animal protein trading company is looking for a Sales Trader to develop and expand its commercial presence across Central America and the Caribbean.
The professional will be responsible for:
- Prospecting new customers
- Developing direct commercial relationships
- Converting market opportunities into profitable and sustainable business
The role requires:
- Experience in international sales or trading
- Strong commercial autonomy
- Ability to work effectively within a global and remote environment
Candidates with an established network or active customer portfolio in the region will be particularly valued. Relationships with direct customers, such as importers, distributors, wholesalers, processors, retailers, and foodservice companies, are preferred over experience limited primarily to transactions with other trading companies.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in international sales, trading or business development
- Previous experience in the animal protein industry
- Commercial knowledge of Central America and/or the Caribbean
- Strong prospecting, negotiation and business development skills
- Knowledge of international trade processes, logistics, documentation and commercial terms
- Advanced or fluent Spanish
- English proficiency to work with an international team
- Ability to work remotely with autonomy and discipline
- Availability for international travel
Requirements
- Established customer relationships or an active portfolio in the target market
- Experience selling directly to importers, distributors, wholesalers, processors, retailers or foodservice companies
- Commercial experience across multiple animal protein categories, including beef, pork, poultry, offal and seafood, will be valued
