Role Description
The Sales Team Lead - Dental is a player-coach responsible for leading a team of up to six Vyne Account Executives (AEs) and helping deliver predictable new-business growth across the dental market. This leader spends approximately 70% of their time coaching and managing the team, and approximately 30% selling a defined book of business. The team's results come first.
This role is for a proven seller who is ready to lead. The successful candidate will use data to diagnose performance, coach to specific skill and habit gaps, hold AEs accountable with empathy, and stay close enough to the market to credibly model great selling, without letting their own quota pull attention away from the team.
Duties & Responsibilities
-
Lead, coach, and develop a team of up to six Account Executives (AEs) through weekly 1:1s, call and demo reviews, live deal support, and written development plans.
-
Contribute directly to team quota attainment and new-business bookings by raising the performance of every AE, with a focus on increasing the number of AEs who consistently reach quota.
-
Use Salesforce, Dialpad, and Outreach data to identify gaps in AE skills, habits, pipeline, conversion, and execution, and translate those insights into specific coaching actions and measurable improvement.
-
Run a disciplined weekly operating cadence for pipeline review, deal inspection, forecasting, qualification, next-step discipline, and CRM hygiene, and ensure the team's forecast is accurate and submitted on time.
-
Carry a defined personal quota on an assigned book of business (approximately 30% of time), selling credibly and modeling Vyne's sales motion.
-
Coach and model a consultative, value-based, Challenger-oriented sales approach that connects Vyne solutions to outcomes dental practices care about.
-
Onboard and ramp new AEs, participate in recruiting and interviewing, and partner with the Director of Sales to address performance issues early and fairly.
-
Partner with Business Development, Marketing, Partnerships, Product, Revenue Operations, and Customer teams to improve lead handoffs, pipeline creation, positioning, enablement, customer proof points, and market feedback.
-
Give the Director of Sales clear visibility into team performance, risks, capacity, and actions required, and provide input on territory design, quota setting, and incentive structure.
-
Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support business and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
-
5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in dental technology, healthcare technology, SaaS, or a related environment, with a record of consistently meeting or exceeding quota as an individual contributor.
-
Experience leading or coaching other sellers, whether as a team lead, sales manager, trainer, or informal mentor, with demonstrated ability to improve the performance of others.
-
Strong command of pipeline management, forecasting, conversion metrics, CRM discipline, and the use of data to diagnose performance gaps and drive action.
-
Experience with a consultative, value-based, Challenger, or comparable insight-led sales methodology, and the ability to teach it through call reviews and live coaching.
-
Ability to balance selling and managing, and to put the team's results ahead of personal production when the two compete for time.
-
Dental industry experience and knowledge of dental practice operations, DSOs, dental technology, or revenue-cycle workflows strongly preferred.
-
Ability to lead effectively in a remote or geographically distributed environment and partner cross-functionally.
