Role Description
Portland Leather Goods is on a mission to WOW even more of our customers with our ongoing expansion into brick-and-mortar retail. We're on the hunt for an energetic Retail District Manager to lead this growth. This key leader will supervise our current locations and spearhead the launch of new stores in the United States. This is a remote position that requires significant amounts of travel.
As a Retail District Manager, you will oversee 10-15 locations, guiding the opening of exciting new retail spots across the United States. Your role will directly impact our success as we expand our presence. As a crucial part of the team, you will be involved in:

Recruiting Top Talent: Attract, hire, mentor, and retain a diverse team of leaders.

Team Leadership: Lead a highly engaged retail staff to ensure consistent achievement of sales goals and the highest level of customer satisfaction.

New Store Openings: Recruiting, set up and launch of marketing and Grand Opening Events.

Dynamic Leadership: Provide consistent, respectful feedback and communication to an energetic and engaged team.

Customer Focus: Build a consistent customer-focused culture aligned with the Portland Leather Goods brand.

Financial Management: Drive top-line sales, interpret data, and manage budgets successfully.

Policy Adherence: Maintain Portland Leather Goods policies and brand expectations daily.

Event Planning and Execution: Strong event planning and execution skills, with the ability to manage vendors, timelines, setup, and day-of coordination.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Resource Management: Develop KPIs and SOPs. Act as a liaison between retail staff and business partners to obtain resources, remove obstacles, and drive retail improvement.

Performance Analysis: Analyze and predict sales trends, make informed decisions to facilitate growth.

In-Store Support: Support store teams through consistent in-store visits, minimum 3 days per week, requiring frequent regional and air travel (approximately 50-75%).
Qualifications

High school diploma or higher.

4 years of multi-store supervision in a retail environment.

A current and valid driverβs license with the ability to commute to multiple locations and attend off-site events.

Ability to travel 50β75% of the time for events, training, or site visits.

Exceptional leadership and influential skills.

Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs.

Friendly, outgoing personality balanced with respectful accountability.

Expertise in human resources including recruiting, hiring, onboarding payroll, and performance management.
