Role Description
We are looking for a hunter who knows how semiconductor IP is transacted. You will own the full licensing cycle with SoC and system companies in your territory, from first technical conversation through evaluation, benchmark, commercial negotiation and signed license, then grow those accounts into multi-design, royalty-generating relationships.
What You'll Do
-
Pipeline & Deal Execution:
Build and close a pipeline of IP licensing deals with semiconductor companies, OEMs, and systems houses that build their own silicon.
-
Sales Cycle Management:
Run complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles (6β18 months) across architecture, software, procurement, legal, and executive teams.
-
Cross-Functional Partnering:
Partner with Quadric field application engineers to scope requirements, run model benchmarks, and drive successful evaluations.
-
Commercial Negotiation:
Structure and negotiate license, NRE, support, and royalty terms that win the deal and build long-term account value.
-
Account Mapping & Engagement:
Map target accounts, uncover upcoming SoC programs early, and position Chimera before the architecture is locked.
-
Market Feedback & Representation:
Feed customer and competitive insight back to product and marketing; represent Quadric at conferences and customer events.
-
Forecasting & Revenue Goals:
Keep Salesforce forecast and pipeline accurate while hitting quarterly and annual bookings targets.
What Success Looks Like
-
Identify and qualify target SoC programs early across key verticals, establishing Quadric's entry before customer architectures lock.
-
Successfully guide multi-stakeholder deals through technical evaluation and benchmarking alongside field engineering teams.
-
Negotiate and close multi-year, high-value IP licensing agreements that establish predictable NRE and long-term royalty revenue streams.
Qualifications
-
8+ years of enterprise sales experience in semiconductors, with at least 5 years specifically selling silicon IP, EDA, or design services.
-
Proven track record of closing seven-figure IP licenses, with solid references to back it up.
-
Existing relationships with SoC architects and engineering leaders in one or more domains: automotive, consumer/edge devices, enterprise vision, industrial, or networking.
-
Deep fluency in the semiconductor IP business model: license fees, royalties, NRE, support, and multi-use agreements.
-
Sufficient technical depth to communicate credibly with technical stakeholders on NPUs, processor architecture, AI/ML workloads, and SoC integration.
-
Self-starter mentality with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving startup environment, along with a willingness to travel up to ~30%.
