Role Description
The PreSales Engineer ECAD is a customer-facing technical role responsible for driving and supporting ECAD-related business opportunities across EMEA. The role focuses on understanding customer requirements, shaping solution concepts, and demonstrating the value of ECAD-PLM integration. As a trusted advisor, you work closely with Sales, Services, and Product teams to ensure technically sound and commercially viable solutions. In addition, you coordinate a small PreSales team, ensuring consistent quality and execution across all customer engagements.

What Youβll Be Doing

Support and drive ECAD-related sales opportunities across EMEA

Conduct customer workshops, discovery sessions, and technical presentations

Translate customer requirements into solution concepts (ECAD / PLM integration)

Design and deliver demos, proof of concepts, and technical evaluations

Support RFI/RFP/RFQ processes and contribute to proposals and Statements of Work

Act as a trusted technical advisor for customers evaluating ECAD integration and digital engineering solutions

Coordinate and guide a small PreSales team to ensure quality and consistency

Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Services, and Product Management, ensuring smooth handover to delivery

Build and continuously improve reusable demo assets, PoC approaches, and PreSales content

Contribute to knowledge sharing, internal enablement, and customer/partner-facing activities such as webinars or events
Qualifications

Customer-oriented trusted advisor with the ability to build credibility across engineers, IT, and business stakeholders

Technically curious and hands-on, with the ability to quickly learn new tools and customer environments

Strong communicator who can simplify complex ECAD-PLM topics and connect them to business value

Collaborative team player, working effectively across Sales, PreSales, Services, Customer Success, Product Management, and partners

Requirements

5+ years of experience in PreSales, Solution Consulting, or Technical Sales (e.g. PLM, ECAD, Engineering Software)

Strong understanding of ECAD/EDA processes and integration into PLM environments

Experience delivering demos, workshops, and proof of concepts

Hands-on experience with ECAD/EDA tools (e.g. Altium, Cadence, Siemens, EPLAN or similar)

Understanding of product data management, digital thread, and enterprise integration concepts

Bachelorβs degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable qualification

Fluent English, additional European languages are a plus

Willingness to travel across EMEA
