Role Description
As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will procure new mortgage transactions for the Bank. The originatorโs primary responsibility is to bring new mortgage loan business to the bank. Responsibilities include:

Taking qualified and complete loan applications.

Collecting the requisite supporting documentation.

Submitting loan packets to the bankโs production office.
-
Maintaining client contact to assist production with clearing stipulations for loan closing.

Soliciting realtors, builders, and other partners to establish business relationships.

Soliciting all types of residential mortgage loan prospects.
Qualifications
-
Thorough knowledge of the lending function.
-
General Accounting knowledge.
-
Ability to perform minimal data entry.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Ability to meet established deadlines.
-
High School Diploma or equivalent.
-
Bachelor's Degree in business-related major preferred.
-
Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively more responsible job-related experience.

NMLS Registration.

Accept mortgage loan applications and interview loan applicants according to policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Keep informed of market conditions and competitive interest rates.

Review regulatory and legal changes pertinent to lending.

Understand loan underwriting standards.

Maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Make sales calls and actively sell appropriate products and services.

Assist clients and co-workers with client relationship needs.

Develop partnerships with various divisions.

Participate in staff meetings and attend meetings as deemed appropriate.

Involvement in marketing of products and services.
-
Develop rapport and utilize communication skills professionally.

Complete all required reports related to the Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.
