[Hiring] Mortgage Loan Officer @ChoiceOne Bank

Role Description

As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will procure new mortgage transactions for the Bank. The originator’s primary responsibility is to bring new mortgage loan business to the bank. Responsibilities include:

• Taking qualified and complete loan applications.
• Collecting the requisite supporting documentation.
• Submitting loan packets to the bank’s production office.
• Maintaining client contact to assist production with clearing stipulations for loan closing.
• Soliciting realtors, builders, and other partners to establish business relationships.
• Soliciting all types of residential mortgage loan prospects.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the lending function.
• General Accounting knowledge.
• Ability to perform minimal data entry.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to meet established deadlines.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree in business-related major preferred.
• Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively more responsible job-related experience.
• NMLS Registration.

• Proactive business development.
• Accept mortgage loan applications and interview loan applicants according to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Keep informed of market conditions and competitive interest rates.
• Review regulatory and legal changes pertinent to lending.
• Understand loan underwriting standards.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Make sales calls and actively sell appropriate products and services.
• Assist clients and co-workers with client relationship needs.
• Develop partnerships with various divisions.
• Participate in staff meetings and attend meetings as deemed appropriate.
• Involvement in marketing of products and services.
• Develop rapport and utilize communication skills professionally.
• Complete all required reports related to the Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.
