Role Description
The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for managing and building strong, ministry-oriented relationships with a portfolio of 100-150 of the organization’s major gift donors. This includes:

Annual solicitation of donors

Care of those donors
-
Keeping donors informed of the impact of their gifts
-
Helping donors fulfill their passions and interests in K-LOVE’s ministry
Travel required. Central Region.
Here’s just some of what you will be doing daily:

Serve as the primary major gift representative to a portfolio of 100-150 of the organization’s major gift donors.

Generate a minimum of $3M annually in charitable gift contributions including financial and planned gifts to advance K-LOVE ministries.

Participate in each step of the donor pipeline including:

Identification
-
Qualification through research
-
Cultivation
-
Briefing
-
Request for support
-
Prompt follow-up, stewardship, and recognition
-
Develop individual donor strategies to renew and upgrade donor gifts.

Move donors to solicitation and closure in an appropriate and timely fashion.
-
Provide active stewardship to those donors, keeping them apprised of ministry activities, the impact of their gifts, and opportunities to engage in ministry activities.

Collaborate with Donor Engagement and Program teams to enhance donor relationships and create greater fundraising and outreach possibilities.

Participate in departmental portfolio review process and maintain an organized system for donor stewardship.

Periodically participate in regional and national events that involve assigned portfolio donors.

Ensure all calls, events, stewardship contacts, and information gathered are recorded in the donor’s data record.

Participate actively in Staff Meetings, Summits, and Retreats.

Adhere to guidelines and administrative procedures including submitting expense reimbursements, invoices, and contact reports.

Other duties as assigned to advance the K-LOVE ministries.
Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of donor development and fundraising experience in major and planned gift solicitations or transferable client relations/development experience.

Demonstrated ability to listen to and understand the goals, interests, and passions of major gift donors.

Possesses effective time management and detail-oriented skills.

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite; CRM experience in Salesforce is a plus.

Ability to work strategically, set priorities, define goals and outcomes, and oversee execution.

Flexible, collaborative, and proactive with the ability to lead and work independently.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships with individual, foundation, and corporate ministry donors.

Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

High energy professional with a proven ability to interact and influence philanthropic leaders.

Commitment to accuracy, transparency, and accountability in conversations with donors and prospects.

Possesses a high level of discretion and ethical approach to fundraising.
