The Key Account Manager (KAM), Rare Blood Disorders, is a senior field role with high performance expectations. This position is accountable for driving sustained territory growth, shaping the treatment landscape within Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs), and positioning Sanofi as a long-term strategic partner in rare blood disorders.
Success in this role requires deep disease knowledge, strong commercial rigor, and the ability to lead complex, cross-functional engagement across multiple stakeholder groups.
Main Responsibilities

Commercial Performance & Business Leadership:

Consistently achieve or exceed sales and performance objectives while managing territory resources with financial discipline.

Develop, execute, and continuously refine a data-driven annual territory business plan, incorporating market dynamics, customer insights, and brand strategy.

Identify risks and opportunities early; take decisive action to protect and grow business results.

Strategic Account Management:

Build and maintain deep, value-based partnerships with multidisciplinary HTC stakeholders, including hematologists, clinic directors, nurses, physiotherapists, and pharmacists.

Serve as the primary point of accountability for Sanofi within assigned accounts; orchestrate cross-functional engagement with Marketing, Medical, Patient Support, and other internal partners.

Map account decision-making structures and influence pathways; adapt engagement strategies accordingly.

Scientific & Clinical Engagement:

Lead high-quality scientific exchange aligned with Approved Product Information, ensuring ethical and compliant promotion.

Clearly articulate the clinical and patient value of Sanofi therapies within evolving hemophilia treatment paradigms.

Deliver or coordinate product administration training and in-services where required, ensuring safe and confident product use.

Enable evidence-based peer-to-peer scientific dialogue and educational initiatives within the territory.

Stakeholder Influence & Advocacy:

Develop strong local advocacy through trusted, credible engagement.

Support regional and national educational programs (e.g., OLAs, learning initiatives, congresses).

Maintain a current and accurate territory and account database to inform national planning and execution.

Operational Excellence & Compliance:
-
Execute all activities in full alignment with Sanofi’s regulatory, legal, and compliance standards.

Maintain timely, accurate CRM documentation, call reporting, expense management, and other administrative requirements.

Successfully complete all mandatory training and stewardship of company assets.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
-
Minimum 3 years of specialty pharmaceutical sales experience (rare disease and/or hemophilia experience strongly preferred), or 2+ years in specialty marketing with proven field impact.

Demonstrated track record of high performance in complex, specialist-driven markets.

Proficient with CRM systems and standard business software.

Willing and able to travel >50%, including national and occasional international travel.

Flexibility for evening and weekend work as required by business needs.

Eligibility for company vehicle under Sanofi Fleet Program, with required safety training and acceptable driving record.
