Role Description
We are currently seeking a remote International Purchasing Coordinator in Colombia. Responsibilities will include establishing positive relationships with our vendors and maintaining a detailed record of all purchase orders. To ensure success as an international purchasing coordinator, one must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively with a variety of staff members in all departments. Ultimately, an outstanding purchasing coordinator should have strong business acumen, as well as a detailed, nuanced understanding of the buying and importing process.

Identify and engage with engineering, operations, marketing, sales, and quality teams to understand commodity requirements and ensure supply base alignment.

Understand commodities for supply chain operations, specifically finished goods and materials.

Support the development and implementation of advantaged purchasing strategies for procurement of products and material supplies.
Qualifications

Bachelorβs Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.

Minimum 5-year experience in consumer products with potential for advancement in the international purchasing environment.

Experience handling international shipments via ocean freight and air freight.

Proven experience and success in leading major cost savings initiatives and cross-functional teams within consumer-packaged goods companies.

Requirements

Creating purchasing orders and procuring company goods and services based on an approved budget.

Manage and maintain database of invoices, quote requests, vendor/supplier contracts, and update as needed.

Review all purchase-related documents for errors before sending to the accounting department.

Track and maintain the status of orders and report any delivery issues to affected supervisors.

Analyze purchasing cycle to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost reductions.

Respond to emergency requests and expedite orders as needed.

Adjust orders to optimize shipments.

Coordinate inbound logistics of products, documents, duty, and delivery.

Support Supplier Relationship Management and facilitate supplier commodity reviews for strategic suppliers.

Ensure internal and external stakeholder compliance with international purchasing policies and controls.

Manage lean end-to-end inbound supply chain across the company.

Partner with the Quality team on resolution of quality/recall issues.

Collaborate with production team, suppliers, design team, and marketing team on launch of new products.

Partner with freight forwarder and Finance on supplier freight and pricing reconciliations and pricing submissions.

Create monthly and annual purchase reports for management review.

Liaise with product development, Sales, CSR, and marketing teams regarding availability and delivery dates of new products.

Ensure that delivery dates on the system are accurate and updated where applicable.

Ensure daily departmental reporting requirements are met.

Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department.

Handle factory drop-ship sales and private label sales from factory to customers.
