Role Description
As a Sales Engineer, you will collaborate with the Enterprise sales team to support and close strategic sales opportunities by serving as a technical subject matter expert. You will design customized solutions that align with customer goals, conduct product demonstrations, and provide input to the Product team to help refine and enhance offerings. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in creating an exceptional customer experience by understanding their needs, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the sales process. Your ability to build strong relationships and deliver value-driven solutions will be key to fostering long-term customer loyalty and success.

Provide advanced Sales Engineering support for mid-sized and moderately complex customer accounts.

Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Customer Support, and Project Management to drive solution adoption and customer satisfaction.

Participate in customer meetings and technical discovery sessions to assess needs and deliver tailored recommendations.

Create timely and accurate technical configurations and solution designs for proposals and sales quotes.

Conduct live and remote product demonstrations, clearly communicating Sparklightโs competitive advantages.

Monitor product performance and escalate significant technical issues as needed.

Identify upsell opportunities based on customer requirements and solution gaps.

Train sales representatives on product functionality, enhancements, and new offerings.
Qualifications

5+ years of experience in a technical role within the telecommunications or information technology industry.

Experience designing business voice solutions, including SIP trunking, PRI, unified communications, and call center platforms.

Experience with network design and managed networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

Expertise in business network architecture and solution design, including LAN/WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, MPLS, BGP, DNS, and VPN technologies.

Bachelorโs or associate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

Ability to obtain relevant certifications, such as CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Cisco Meraki certifications, or MEF 3.0.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Ability to create technical documentation, solution diagrams, and RFP responses.

Strong presentation and public speaking skills, including the ability to deliver demonstrations and technical workshops.

Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and propose solutions tailored to customer needs.

Creative thinking and adaptability in changing customer environments.

Self-motivation and the ability to work independently or as part of a sales or account team.
