Role Description

We’re looking for an experienced Sr. Sales Engineer who thrives on solving complex problems, collaborating across teams, and delivering meaningful impact for customers. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping the future of Buoy’s platform by guiding customers through seamless integrations and influencing both product and technical direction.

  • Lead high-value implementations and act as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Ensure customers unlock the full potential of Buoy’s SaaS platform.
  • Travel at least once per month to meet with customer companies and their executive teams.
  • Build trust and understand real-world use cases during visits.
  • Enjoy high-touch interactions and represent Buoy in strategic discussions.

Qualifications

  • Be a passionate communicator, advisor, and advocate for the Customer.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of software development.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas experience (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.

Requirements

  • Partner cross-functionally with Buoy customers, engineering, and operations teams from pre-sale through implementation.
  • Understand customer architecture and technical environments to inform integration strategy.
  • Drive business outcomes by creating scalable, customer-focused technical artifacts.
  • Provide architectural guidance and technical thought leadership to internal teams.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to deeply understand use cases.
  • Demonstrate strong systems thinking and cross-functional leadership.
