Role Description

Blackline Safety is looking for a Sales Development Representative to own the inbound lead qualification process and drive outbound sales development.

You will have ownership over the inbound lead qualification and outbound lead generation process and will be responsible for the success of converting leads into qualified opportunities. Your job will include:

  • Managing inbound enquiries with the highest attentiveness
  • Researching potential customers and contacts
  • Cold-calling, emailing, LinkedIn/Sales Navigator Messaging
  • Pre-qualification of leads
  • Initial demonstrations of our solution to potential customers
  • Working directly with our internal and external sales team to support their customers
  • Some quoting

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Complete outbound lead generation to develop leads and pass them to Sales Managers
  • Run lead warm up report daily to determine follow-ups required
  • Respond to inbound web, phone and email leads to expand awareness, educate and develop the lead
  • Assist with back up to sales support (RFQ processing)
  • Ensure our CRM is up-to-date with relevant customer info for every pre-qualified lead
  • Ownership and maintenance of records in the CRM for customers and distributors
  • Keep track of lead metrics, conversions and other sales related reporting
  • Be knowledgeable with industry standards for gas detection and competitors
  • Keep up with industry trends, different verticals and personas we sell to
  • Demonstrate Blackline technology and solutions to client teams via online meetings
  • Determine time for conversion and what influences the time (industries, products, etc.)
  • Cold Calling

Qualifications

  • BA degree, or equivalent in relevant experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales
  • An engaging personality, excellent communication skills and an ability to quickly develop rapport on the phone
  • Excellent customer service skills, a desire to understand each customer’s needs and help find the right solution for them
  • The desire to grow professionally, to help drive sales and grow the business
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong writing skills, attention to detail and the ability to think outside the box
  • Marketing or communications experience/education is considered an asset
  • Ability to quickly develop client trust and good relationships
  • Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner
  • Ability to listen and understand customer needs
  • Ability to present our solutions and answer questions
