Role Description

As a Regional Sales Director, you will be responsible for managing a geographic territory in the sale of institutional retirement plans. Your responsibilities include:

  • Providing regular contact and support to financial intermediaries (registered investment advisors, corporate trustees, and other financial partners) and centers-of-influence within your defined territory.
  • Developing and executing a disciplined sales strategy within your territory to build and retain profitable, productive relationships.
  • Generating proposals and closing new business opportunities to meet or exceed annual revenue goals.
  • Being the external face of BPAS in your territory to find, build, and nurture partnerships with financial intermediaries.
  • Establishing and maintaining a steady sales pipeline in your assigned territory.
  • Consistently following a regular rotation of face-to-face meetings within your assigned territory with a focus on proposal generation to increase sales.
  • Having an in-depth understanding of the retirement plan space with relationships and product knowledge in the assigned territory.
  • Exhibiting a team player mentality and the ability to interface with other departments to drive common goals.
  • Demonstrating polished sales skills for presenting to financial intermediaries and retirement plan committees.
  • Handling fee quotes, pricing, proposals, RFP responses, and follow-ups.
  • Possessing a passionate drive to meet and exceed client expectations and provide superior service.
  • Proactively seeking and supporting the development of new initiatives to enhance BPAS’ success and market presence.
  • Being a competent, goal-oriented individual capable of sustaining high levels of activity through both phone and in-person meetings.
  • Motivating to find new prospects, secure meetings, and present services to financial partners.
  • Supporting cross-selling strategies for existing clients and new relationships.
  • Managing multiple facets of the sales process, including coordination of meetings, support material, follow-up tasks, phone calls, proposals, RFP responses, and presentations.
  • Participating and providing input on marketing, advertising, and promotional strategies.
  • Representing the company at national meetings or conferences, including public speaking and running panel discussions.
  • Assisting with the compilation of competitive market intelligence and sharing insights with other sales team members.
  • Being customer-focused with a passionate drive to engage with customers and offer unique solutions.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Responsible for the completion of all compliance training related to the position.
  • Understands all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and complies with the requirements.
  • Undergraduate degree or comparable work experience required.
  • Experience with defined contribution retirement plans required.
  • Five (5) or more years of Financial Service Sales experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial services sales, wholesaling, retirement products, and relationship management.
  • Oratory skills with group presentations, panel discussions, and educational seminars.
  • Must live in and be prepared to spend significant time traveling throughout your assigned territory.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations.
  • Drives performance targets to completion.
  • All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
