Role Description
Our North America Inside Sales Team is hiring for an Inside Sales Consultant supporting Central Canada! Communicating the true value of our veterinary diagnostic and technology products and services is at the heart of our IDEXX’s commercial business.
- Work collaboratively with the front-line sales team to build strong relationships, drive IDEXX loyalty and increase diagnostic revenue growth with customers in your aligned region.
- Engage customers through knowledgeable phone interactions, business discussions, and educational opportunities.
- Uncover customer needs to increase product utilization and confirm mutually beneficial next steps to move the sale/relationship forward.
- Present IDEXX's values to customers in a professional manner, including an understanding of our industry, veterinary practice, customers, technology, operations, and processes.
- Focus on a consultative selling approach to help practices grow their diagnostic revenue with IDEXX as a high-value partner.
- Use discovery to make recommendations and generate leads/opportunities within your existing customer base leading to an overall increase in territory revenue.
- Help build customer loyalty through the effective use of IDEXX products & services including in-house diagnostic solutions, rapid assay, and reference laboratory testing in the customer’s practice.
- Collaborate with field sales colleagues to increase diagnostic utilization and revenue growth year over year in your region.
- Use Salesforce.com to maintain accurate customer profiles and interactions.
Qualifications
- Basic experience in direct telephone or customer face-to-face sales (1-2 years)
- Diagnostic sales preferred
- Previous experience managing a sales pipeline highly preferred
- Bi-Lingual (French Canadian) is preferred
- Highly motivated and goal-oriented, while working collaboratively within a team
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to build strong customer and peer partnerships that allow you to gain confidence and trust from others easily
- Ability to plan and prioritize work in a dynamic environment and make quality, timely decisions
- Effective listening skills utilized to discover customer needs and adapt your approach and demeanor to different situations
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Understanding of the veterinary diagnostic market and experience in healthcare or scientific industry is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or scientific discipline is a plus
Requirements
- Location: Maine based local candidates will be required to be on site 2 days a week at our headquarters in Westbrook, ME.
- Candidates located outside of Maine will work in a virtual setting.
