[Hiring] Head of APAC – Capital Origination @Permian Labs

Role Description

The Head of APAC & Middle East is a capital origination role responsible for building and owning USD.AI's depositor base across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. You will identify, approach, and close relationships with individuals, family offices, crypto funds, and institutional allocators who are looking for yield-bearing exposure to AI infrastructure as an asset class.

This is a mid-level BD role for someone who already has a warm network in the region and knows how to navigate crypto-native capital. You understand what a sophisticated investor cares about. You can walk a fund manager through a collateralized lending structure and a yield curve in the same breath. Your job is to get it in front of the right people, build durable relationships, and secure >$5M tickets.

Responsibilities

• Own the full capital origination pipeline for APAC and Middle East — from prospecting to close to ongoing relationship management.
• Build and maintain relationships with crypto-native funds, family offices, HNWIs, and institutional allocators with deposit capacity of $5M+.
• Represent USD.AI at regional conferences, summits, and community events across Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, and beyond.
• Develop a deep understanding of the USD.AI protocol, yield mechanics, and collateral framework to speak credibly with sophisticated counterparties.
• Work closely with the founding team to develop region-specific positioning and collateral for outreach.
• Maintain a clean, current pipeline in our CRM with accurate deal stages, contact notes, and forecasted deposit volumes.
• Feed market intelligence back to the team — what objections are you hearing, what structures are prospects asking for, what's moving capital in the region right now.
• Coordinate with compliance and onboarding to ensure smooth KYC/AML processes for new depositors.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in crypto BD, institutional sales, private credit distribution, or a related capital markets role.
• Existing network of crypto-native capital allocators in APAC and/or the Middle East — you can book meetings on day one.
• Fluency in both DeFi and TradFi mental models: you can explain APY, collateral ratios, and credit risk in the same conversation.
• Proven track record of closing large-ticket deals ($1M+) with sophisticated counterparties.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Cantonese or Mandarin a significant plus.
• Self-directed and comfortable operating with minimal process in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Based in Hong Kong or Shenzhen, with willingness to travel across the region regularly.

Nice to Have

• Experience at a crypto fund, digital asset prime broker, or DeFi protocol in a capital-facing role.
• Familiarity with structured credit products, private credit, or alternative yield strategies.
• Existing relationships with UAE/Saudi family offices or sovereign-adjacent allocators.
• Background in AI infrastructure, GPU compute, or adjacent technology sectors.
