[Hiring] Field Service Applications Engineer @PennEngineering®

Role Description

Working from a remote office, this function requires a self-motivated, innovative, and dedicated individual who wants to work with and solve our customers' fastening problems. This position will be required to initiate, facilitate as well as drive various business problem-solving and process re-engineering projects in collaboration with clients. Responsibilities include:

• Generating and managing leads on technical requirements from various sources.
• Conducting product and technical training for Customers, Reps, and Distributors.
• Serving as the major source of technical support and liaison between the customer and their engineering department.
• Developing and coordinating strategic plans for new product concepts and associated product testing.
• Making recommendations to improve products, processes, and performance.
• Specializing in multiple market segments such as Micro Products, Panel Fasteners, Aerospace, or Automotive/AE.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Entry-level to one-year Engineering design experience.
• Experience using 3D modeling software.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proven project leadership ability and successful record of completing Sales / Marketing or Engineering assignments.
• Strong working knowledge of various techniques and materials used in manufacturing mechanical fasteners.
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally by air.

Requirements

• Must be able to clearly communicate (both written and verbal) with customers and technical representatives in person, through e-mail, and over the telephone.
• Must be able to use testing/measurement tools.
• Visual acuity for detailed work.
• Must be able to work in an air-conditioned office environment or shop environment as necessary.
• Must be able to operate a PC/Workstation including a mouse and/or a keyboard.
