[Hiring] Commercial Manager @Biffa Waste Services

Role Description

This role involves working from home, covering the South, with occasional national travel as required.

• Retain, develop and grow the customer base, identifying and securing new key accounts.
• Build a strong pipeline within the Landfill division by providing industry-leading customer service.
• Work closely with clients across both the private and public sectors, supporting landfill operations nationally.
• Actively seek new leads to grow the customer base and secure new key accounts.
• Manage and develop existing customers to maximize account value and increase profitability.
• Collaborate with the Commercial Team to develop and implement innovative commercial and marketing strategies.
• Contribute to the annual budgeting process of applicable business units.
• Provide high-level customer service by resolving contractual and commercial complaint escalations in a timely manner.
• Partner with Site Managers and the Divisional Senior Leadership Team to explore and deliver new or improved services.
• Carry out reasonable job-related tasks as required by the company.
• Understand and comply with industry regulators such as the Environment Agency and HMRC.

Qualifications

• Degree level or equivalent in Environmental, Sales, Marketing, Commercial Management or similar.
• Experience in sales, project management, customer account management, or technical management.
• Ability to achieve clearly defined service level agreements and KPIs, including customer service and financial delivery.
• Knowledge of the UK waste management sector.
• Ability to travel throughout the UK, with occasional nights away from home.

Requirements

• Desirable: Member of Institute of Sales and Marketing Management or similar.
• CIWM membership.
• COTC certification.
• Hands-on experience within the Commercial function in the Waste management sector.
• Understanding of environmental compliance.
