Role Description

Chemical Service Technicians are responsible for sales support by maintaining the existing customer base in an East Texas territory. The role includes:

• Performing water treatment tests at existing customers.
• Working from home while training alongside veteran Territory Managers.
• Solving customers' water problems.
• Treating industrial boilers and cooling towers to keep them energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
• Performing detailed water testing & analyses at industrial sites, medical centers, and commercial buildings.
• Helping sell Garratt-Callahan's proprietary chemical blends, equipment, & monitoring technology.
• Passivating stainless steel in industrial water treatment systems.
• Assisting in the sale of corrosion & scale inhibitors, coagulants, flocculants, biocides, bio-augmentation, feed & monitoring equipment, water management plans, and reverse osmosis products.
• Promoting Water Safety Programs.
• Keeping existing customers happy and helping bring on new industrial customers.

Qualifications

• A technical degree such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Mechanical Engineering, Paper Science, or Water Resources.
• A 4-year science degree is required to qualify for this position.
• One-year technical sales experience or an internship related to water treatment chemicals is preferred.
• Outside industrial sales experience is a plus.
• Must live in East Texas, preferably Tyler, and be familiar with the industrial marketplace of the area.
