Role Description

As a Business Development Manager at Rand Technology, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities that align with Rand’s corporate strategy. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in expanding the company's customer base and market share, forging new customer partnerships, and driving revenue growth.

This role can be based anywhere in the East Coast of the US, but preferred locations include Boston, Chicago, or Michigan.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, target markets, and assess competitive landscapes.
  • Develop and execute strategic action plans to target and win the right opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with potential customers, understanding their needs and presenting tailored solutions.
  • Ensure superb handoff of accounts to account managers through planning, sharing, and executing together.
  • Work with leadership and program managers on complex opportunities.
  • Seek out and cultivate strategic partnerships with complementary businesses to enhance market reach and product offerings.
  • Target focus customer expansion accounts.
  • Work with Account Executive (AE) to decide if BDM support is needed for existing accounts.
  • Travel one week on, one week off, to meet clients, build relationships, and spot growth opportunities.
  • Submit a meeting report after each client visit to the global sales team.
  • Work and collaborate with SPs and BDMs from other regions if required.

Core Competencies

  • 3+ years of proven track record in international business development and/or sales, within the technology industry.
  • Strong understanding of technology products and services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate oneself.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years’ international business development and/or sales, within electronic components, computer hardware, ITAD, or electronic distribution industries (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel for customer meetings as needed.
