Role Description

The Associate Director New Business Development identifies and delivers outbound/selling activities according to OPEN Health Medical Communications' new business strategies to achieve financial sales targets. This involves cultivating a network of global biopharmaceutical and biotech clients across medical affairs and marketing functions and working closely with key internal OPEN Health Medical Communications leadership to drive successful new business growth.

  • Leading outbound selling activities across medical communications, marketing, and promotional medical education services.
  • Identifying and cultivating new business relationships with targeted clients.
  • Building strong relationships with biopharmaceutical procurement leads to secure RFPs.
  • Fostering partnerships with key internal Medical Communications COE stakeholders.
  • Partnering with broader OPEN Health Group New Business Development and Marketing teams.
  • Reviewing market trends to anticipate client needs.
  • Communicating changing market dynamics that influence sales and growth opportunities.
  • Traveling to conferences and client meetings to expand the client network.
  • Tracking and reporting on sales metrics, pipeline development, and conversion rates.
  • Following best practices regarding communication and documenting processes.
  • Taking ownership of sales targets through outbound lead generation.
  • Developing compelling capabilities overviews for prospective clients.
  • Working closely with key COE stakeholders to ensure smooth transition of opportunities.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Mapping target audiences and validating with internal stakeholders prior to outreach.
  • Attending and contributing to internal meetings focused on new business.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in healthcare environment at a medical communications agency, pharmaceutical company, or healthcare consultancy.
  • Proven results in sales, new business development, and/or account management.
  • Documented success in building an organic network and hitting financial targets in healthcare communications.
  • Solid understanding of medical affairs and marketing within the biopharmaceutical sector.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and partnership skills.
  • Professional approach with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Effective organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Proficient in MS365 and experience with CRM platforms.

Requirements

  • Up to 25% travel, predominantly North America or EMEA-focused.
