Role Description

The Associate Director, Access Reimbursement Management will provide education, assistance, and issue resolution to healthcare providers (HCPs) and their office staff in response to patient access challenges for Sage in-line products.

Outreach may be telephonic as well as in-person.
Stakeholders include HCPs and office staff, Sage Sales colleagues, Patient Support Coordinators, National Account Directors, and Specialty Pharmacies.
Equip HCPs and their staff to navigate the patient-level payer access requirements and approval process for ZURZUVAETM (zuranolone) CIV.
Demonstrate an advanced understanding of public and private payers and research specific coverage barriers.
Communicate effectively regarding education on Medicaid, commercial plans, PBM designs, policy changes, and formulary status.
Knowledge of pharmacy benefit reimbursement practices, compliance, billing and coding processes, and utilization management / prior authorization process.
Reference reimbursement and access materials to educate HCPs on access-related questions.
Embrace Sage’s culture of compliance and ensure all activities are compliant with policies, laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Implement and support the strategic tactical plan for product access and reimbursement.
Analyze data and reports to determine outreach efforts needed to educate HCPs regarding access-related issues.
Travel to HCP sites on a limited basis for in-person educational efforts.
Understand key stakeholders within an HCP office and navigate relationships to support customer reimbursement needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
6+ years experience in payer marketing, patient support programs, or field reimbursement support.
Advanced understanding of the healthcare environment, specifically around delivering services to Health Care Professionals.
Experience with products that utilize specialty pharmacies.
Experience educating health care providers on product access questions and researching coverage for pharmacy benefit products.
Experience navigating complex access challenges specific to specialty pharmacy in multiple regions/states.

Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively payer coverage criteria, payer policy, and prior approval processes.
Ability to manage multiple internal cross-functional touch points and prioritize support of field service requests.
Understanding of national and state legislative, Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer coverage initiatives affecting reimbursement.
Compliance with all Sage corporate policies, internal procedures, and applicable laws and industry codes.
Results-oriented, self-organized, and self-starter with a proven track record of results.
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desire to innovate and work in a fast-paced, energetic environment with competing priorities.
Ability to travel up to 30% for key meetings.
Must be located within 50 miles of a major airport in or near the territory.
Valid driver’s license.
