Role Description

The Account Director is primarily responsible for strategically identifying, developing, and managing corporate transient, project, crew and group sales opportunities. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong sales acumen, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively within a team, and a drive to win in a highly competitive market.

Your day to day

• Business Development: Actively seek and develop new business opportunities and contacts within assigned accounts to maximize market share and revenue.
• Strategic Planning: Assess accounts and their opportunities, building strategic account plans. Collaborate with global counterparts, agencies, hotels, and contacts to execute strategies and tactics that drive revenue and market share.
• Performance Analysis: Monitor account performance metrics and use data to identify trends and opportunities, utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and refine sales strategies.
• Networking: Network within accounts to identify key decision-makers and influencers, building relationships to fully penetrate account potential.
• Understanding Client Needs: Seek to understand the account's business and priorities, developing strategies that align with their objectives and maximize opportunities.
• Collaboration with Hotels: Work closely with appropriate hotels to ensure clear communication of expectations and goals. Develop a network of support at key hotels, fostering close working relationships with hotel management and sales staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marketing, Management, Business, Hospitality, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Demonstrated experience with a deep understanding of corporate transient, crew & project type accounts and group sales.
• Proven experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale sales segment plans from conception through implementation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for providing information to clients, vendors, senior management, and staff.
• Strong commercial acumen with a high-level understanding of operating in an owned, managed, and franchised environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%.
• Candidate must reside in Western Canada with preference for greater Calgary or Edmonton area.

Requirements

• Experience working with global companies with multiple stakeholders, cultural teams, and complex buying processes.
• Ability to work effectively at the board level in client companies, with strong relationship management, negotiating, and persuading abilities.
• Experience with franchise organizations or ownership constituencies is preferable.
• International experience or handling accounts with an international scope is preferable.

Benefits

• The salary range for this role is $90,000.00 - $115,000.00.
• This role is also eligible for bonus pay (as applicable).
