Role Description

We're looking for a Research Director for a global technology research and advisory firm focused on helping companies make smarter technology investment decisions. If you are analytical, a clear communicator, and confident with financial modeling and AI platforms, keep reading!

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Build a parametric model that helps analysts and clients evaluate the potential value of specific AI use cases
• Build a quantitative cost model that allows for a reasonable estimate of what it costs to run those use cases
• Work with the analyst community to build the models and help them use the models in their own research
• Partner with AI leadership and engineering to create an interactive AI economics tool that clients can use to manage their initiatives
• Work with the sourcing advisory team to bring ongoing price benchmarking into the models
• Research functional and industry use cases, and the key factors that determine AI operating cost
• Contribute to the production of both syndicated and custom research

Qualifications

• Completed PhD in Mathematics
• 3+ years of experience in a financial analysis or business transformation role, implementing AI projects
• First-hand experience building economic impact and/or financial models related to technology investment
• Knowledge of AI deployment models and the advantages and disadvantages of each
• Demonstrated ability to analyze survey data and normalize findings to support the building of analytic models
• Ability to read and evaluate financial reports and identify the key drivers behind companies' performance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of the overall AI technology sector, and the ability to analyze trends and give actionable guidance to technology providers and buyers
• Up-to-date knowledge of innovations in large language models and the AI industry
• Direct experience working with AI platforms
• Background at an analyst firm, consultancy, or AI company
• Experience with pricing or cost benchmarking
