[Hiring] Research Assistant @National Indigenous Employment and Training Alliance

Role Description

The National Indigenous Employment and Training Alliance (The Alliance) is seeking an emerging First Nations researcher to join our Research Team and contribute to projects that influence policy, strengthen the evidence base and improve employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This role provides a strong foundation for someone wanting to build a career in applied research.

• Support research projects focused on Indigenous employment, training and workforce development.
• Gain experience across the research lifecycle, including:
• Supporting literature reviews, desktop research and evidence gathering.
• Assisting with surveys, interviews and stakeholder consultations.
• Organising and analysing research information.
• Preparing reports, presentations and research insights.
• Supporting research projects and coordination activities.

Qualifications

• A qualification (or be nearing completion) in social sciences, public policy, business, education, health or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A willingness to learn, take initiative and work collaboratively.
• A genuine interest in research, evidence and creating positive change.
• Experience in research, policy, evaluation or project work is desirable but not essential.

Requirements

• Brisbane-based preferred – other capital cities considered.
• Remote / Work from Home.
• Full-time position.
• Fixed term till 30 June 2028 (with potential extension).
• Remuneration: $80,000 per annum plus superannuation and salary sacrifice.
• This is an identified position open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants under Section 8 of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth).
