Role Description
The Research and Policy Analyst will support research, data analytics, and policy analysis activities within the Institute for Science, Technology, and Policy. Working under the guidance of manager and senior director, this role contributes to workforce research projects by:

Conducting analyses

Preparing reports and visualizations

Supporting survey administration

Assisting with policy and environmental scans
This role is primarily focused on:

Translating complex findings into actionable recommendations
The role will also conduct policy-relevant research and analysis by assessing the workforce, healthcare, regulatory, and research policy landscape.
Qualifications

Bachelorโs or Masterโs degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Public Health, Public Policy, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field

3+ years of experience conducting applied research, data analysis, and program or policy evaluation

Demonstrated proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods, statistical analysis, data visualization, and dashboard development using tools such as R, Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, SAS, or Stata

Proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights and communicate findings through reports, presentations, and research products for diverse audiences

Knowledge of workforce, healthcare, research, or public policy issues preferred
Requirements

Perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis for ongoing workforce research and advocacy projects

Support development and deployment of pathology and laboratory workforce surveys/studies

Perform literature reviews to support workforce initiatives

Support ASCP pathology and laboratory workforce visibility campaign

Produce tables, figures, and charts to present data in various formats
-
Conduct policy research and monitor federal and state legislative and regulatory activity
-
Assist with committee coordination, meeting materials, and policy updates
-
Prepare comprehensive reports and briefings for senior leadership and external partners
-
Support conference and meeting logistics
-
Maintain workforce resource webpages and related materials
-
May provide guidance to interns or temporary staff
-
Support compliance with research protocols and organizational policies
-
Track project activities, timelines, and deliverables
