[Hiring] Postdoctoral Researcher on HIV Latency @Inserm

Role Description

A three-years post-doctoral position is available in the Virus-Host Interactions team at the Institut Cochin in Paris, France. Deciphering the molecular mechanisms behind HIV latency is paramount for developing effective treatment strategies. Our laboratory explores the mechanisms of HIV-1 latency leading to the persistence of cells harboring replication-competent but transcriptionally silent viruses. This project aims at understanding how cellular factors controlling premature transcription termination enforce transcriptional silencing of HIV in latently infected cells.

Work in BSL2 and BSL3 facility.

Qualifications

• Strong background in mechanisms of regulation transcription/post-transcription and/or molecular virology

Requirements

• Ph.D. (or MD/PhD) in relevant disciplines such as virology, genomic, transcriptomic or biochemistry
• Strong background in transcription/chromatin biology, biochemistry and molecular biology
• Bioinformatic skills and/or experience with HIV will be an advantage
• Excellent oral communication and written skills in English
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities

Benefits

• Full time: 38h30/week
• 32 Annual leave and 12 RTT
• Remuneration from 2997,20 € gross per month depending on professional experience in equivalent positions
